Second Opinion Assessment
See your full manuscript or robust outline through fresh eyes and fall in love with the creative process again–even the hard parts.
You’ve put a ton of work into this novel already. You’ve written at least one full draft–an outline that could be a novella in its own right. But the questions keep gnawing at you, Is this any good? Should I give up and start all over? …Again?
It’s time to swap that nagging little voice of doubt for honest, practical feedback delivered with empathy and joy.

Hi, I'm Richenda
I'm an Author Accelerator certified fiction book coach with over 20 years of immersion in writing communities, workshops, and even peeking behind the curtain of the publishing industry.
I help neurodivergent women overwhelmed by their own high expectations get back to basics they believe in, build a strong foundation, and write forward with confidence. I'm passionate about creative writing guidance that's actually useful when you're staring at a blank page, and gives writers the tools and confidence to adapt their creative process. My job is to help you trust your gut and write your weird!Much more than a Full MS Assessment
I’ll review your manuscript, robust outline, or partial manuscript with outline, and provide a feedback report tailored to your concerns for this book.
In addition to a written edit letter I’ll also provide inline comments to point out specific examples. (And to gush about the parts I love!)
My concerns are prioritized from story buster to cosmetic and your edit letter will outline actionable recommendations so you know exactly where to start your revisions.
Of course, all that feedback sounds great until you’re alone with your laptop trying to implement it. That’s why this package includes up to 5 hours of check-in call time–or you can swap out one hour of call time for feedback on up to 40 pages of revisions. Use our time together to ask questions, troubleshoot, stay on task, or get a pep talk when you’re really tempted to throw in the towel.
Most of all, you should come away from our interaction feeling like you have what it takes to see this story through. Because you do.
This is for you if...
- You know something isn’t working but can’t quite put your finger on it–!
- You’ve tried everything you can think of but each attempt just seems to create new problems.
- You’ve found a problem and it’s so humonguous you may as well toss your laptop in a river.
- …please don’t throw your laptop in a river.
- This is like, the fifth project that’s gone nowhere because you ran out of steam.
- You’re thinking about scrapping this draft or version of the story and starting over yet again.
- Honestly, you’re wondering why you keep doing this to yourself!
- (Because you love it, and you’ve got cool ideas, and I’m going to help you get through this.)

Concerns Questionnaire
- Story: Tell me why you’re worried this draft, or the entire project, is doomed. What’s not working? What have you tried? How are you feeling about it?
- Process: Walk me through your typical creative process and any recurring hiccups. Do you have a method you swear by? Did something change to make your usual work space uninhabitable?
- Headspace: Tell me about your past experiences receiving feedback. What inspires you, and what makes you shut down? What do you need from me to feel safe sharing your work?
Inline Comments
- First Chapter comments, because those are the hardest!
- Comments highlighting what’s raised in the Edit Letter.
- My favorite part deserves extra love and attention! Emojis incoming! 🥰🤩
Edit Letter
An Edit Letter consists of 3-8 typed pages detailing my observations and suggestions, in order of precedence.
- The Big Picture
- Are the bedrock foundations of your novel solid? Is there narrative drive and urgency?
- Is there a clear and satisfying character arc? Do we get to experience the world as the characters do?
- Does the narrative trust the reader to understand, while supplying enough information?
- Addressing Your Specific Concerns
- Story Level:
- Your gut knows something isn’t working, and we’re going to honor that instinct by exploring what factors are setting off your spidey-senses. We’ll also defuse some of the anxiety by taking a step back and trying on new perspectives.
- Process Level:
- The creative process can be fraught even if you’re not carrying around a lifetime of baggage from being neurodivergent in a world built for one kind of brain. Traditional teaching of writing craft can reinforce ideas that don’t work for us, so let’s clear out those cobwebs and find what does.
- Story Level:
- Recommended Next Steps
- Each recommendation will have a clear connection to the issues raised so you understand why it’s worth trying and what you’re aiming for.
- The Big Picture
5 hours of 1:1 call time
1 hour Feedback Call
- To discuss the feedback you’ve received, how you’re feeling now, and make a plan for your next steps.
