Richenda’s approach to new website projects is to ask questions. What does the client want? What do they want it to look like? What messages should be conveyed? What materials already exist, and what needs to be created? Richenda has developed worksheets that help prospective clients answer these questions, clarifying issues for both client and designer. Richenda’s ultimate goal is to create a website that you feel capable of maintaining.
Design
Your project will begin as a series of mock-ups, illustrating where content will appear on the page. From there, the design grows to include all the little features that make a web page special. Special concern is given to target audience. Richenda can adapt existing designs or create custom designs from scratch.
Build
After assessing the scope of your project, Richenda will recommend a build method based on your needs. A static page may be coded by hand, or we’ll make use of a content management system, like Blogger, WordPress, or Joomla!
Optimize
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is crucial for getting your website recognized. Richenda will tune your site for search engine recognition, and help you enable web statistics to measure how many hits your site is getting and where they’re coming from.
Content
As a writer, Richenda is uniquely qualified to meet all your needs. Once provided with information about your organization and its goals she can create clear, accessible copy to populate your pages.
Maintenance Training
Richenda believes in working herself out of a job. You should be in charge of your own website, able to update it as frequently or ingrequently as you need to. Richenda will teach you how, in a series of sessions designed to make you feel comfortable and capable. Don’t writer yourself off as ‘tech illiterate.’ You just need practice and patience, and you’ll be off and running in no time!

Always enchanted by the power of the stage to transport an audience to another time and place, Richenda has begun to explore this medium herself.
Richenda is a natural editor, beginning with picking out errors on school worksheets in elementary school. Not just a ‘grammar Nazi’, she spots inconsistencies and can refashion a larger arc to better communicate a theme. Her experience dates back to high school, when she co-founded a website for young readers to get helpful reviews of their work, and continued in college where she spent over 280 hours in workshops. Richenda does not simply proofread, she edits. She doesn’t only edit, she coaches.
Editing jobs will include a printed, marked up copy of your manuscript shipped back to you with a typed document explaining Richenda’s changes, suggestions and overall impressions.
